Help Make a Difference through the MFAN Military Family 360 Survey
The mission of the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) is to understand and amplify the needs of military-connected families and inspire data-informed change.
Since MFAN was founded in 2013, the organization has conducted a biennial survey to gain insight into the support needs among U.S. military and veteran families worldwide. Taking a 360-degree look at military family life, the survey covers a broad range of subjects, including caregiving, childcare, employment, family relationships, financial readiness, food insecurity, health and well-being, housing, permanent change of station moves, and military-to-civilian transition.
The stories told by those taking the survey help raise national awareness and influence real outcomes. Leaders, lawmakers and support organizations rely upon the feedback gained to guide actionable solutions. The research conducted and disseminated by MFAN has inspired the Military Housing Privatization Initiative’s Tenant Bill of Rights, the distribution of 15 million meals to military families in need, strategies to strengthen economic security and a Congressional quality of life panel for service members and their families.
Any active duty service member, member of the Guard or Reserve, veteran, retiree, military spouse or partner, or divorced or surviving spouse is invited to participate, so long as they are over 18 years old. The survey takes approximately 30 minutes, but the input and data gained make a critical difference. Everyone submitting a completed survey has the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free gift card.
AUSN encourages all members and their spouses, as well as any qualified family members, to participate in this survey. Further information and the 2025 survey can be found at milfam360.org.
